yes its 50-50 cut and thrust. But thats with the caveat that all cuts must end in a manner thjat allows for an instant thrust. This changes the nature of the cuts requiring control. The footwork is the standard Italian stuff, you could make some arguments about how deep the individual should go with lunges due to body types and limitations etc.
We assume right foot forward in rappier 99% of the time as opposed to Dusack which is around 80% right foot forward with frequent use of passes as needed, rappier is pretty much right foot forward and stay forward using meyer's triangles to move around.
Yup Meyer is in the the Marozzo Bolognese lineage according to a 18th or 19th century french fencing historian.
We freeplay using wooden simulators but will be switching to the Alchems when able.
Its very nasty stuff watch the eyes.
Its pretty clear how deadly this system was and why it was the civilian self defense of the day, i can only imagine how horrible it must have been to be on the end of Meyer's Rappier point.
