those i must say are interesting gloves and the head pieces oddly remind me of those samurai ones with the headband with a steel band at the front.
as far as i know with fiore (not knowing much on him just the context of his manual) is that his texts are dedicated to battlefield combat and this progresses and with ringeck we see street fighting and unarmoured works come in until around meyers time armour is no existent in context of the manual.
also tinker that makes these forums great i know some you know some it helps all of us in the hema world progress.
i tend to bounce from manual to manual a bit but am trying to stick on ringeck and meyer really.

Fiore is about much more than the battlefield. He basically covers everything from self-defence (dagger, seated and 'alternative' weapon plays) to duelling (he says he fought 5 duels in just a gambeson and leather gloves, and that he advises his students against it) to the judical duel (the weapon set shown is that of a judicial duel and he talks of fighting in the lists a lot) to the battlefield (actually I think this is the one thing that is not directly mentioned but seems to follow).

Even looking at Ringeck we have pretty similar contexts to Fiore, I am not sure where you are getting that it is 'street fighting and unarmoured'?

I might have to put that in *my* sig.

Is that good? or did I faux pas...? :-)

It's good. I like any statement where the punchline is "Judicial duel."

as i said im not experienced with fiore i know very little about him and his work i was only saying from a later context that teaching wrestling in armour stopped as armour left the battlefield so we see some similar moves but they end out being similar moves being taught. i really need to get fiores work as its talked of a lot and i have not really seen much of it at all.
