Hugh Knight had a booth on it at the Tournament of the Phoenix event here in SoCal and I talked to him a little about it. Unfortunately I can't remember what books he was working from, but I can talk to Jeremy about it if someone else doesn't answer you, and I'm sure he'd know. From what I remember though they were just long (maybe longer than normal) longswords, possibly they had a zweihander type grip to use the sword like a spear. I wish I remembered because this is a topic I'm interested in as well!
