The way it's tipped reminds me of Paul h Mair's feders.
And I can teach thee, coz, to shame the devil—
By telling the truth. Tell truth and shame the devil.

about this second specimen: well, it resembles a german feder, but that's a "black sword" or "marra". It's a 17th century a rapier trainer, at the time they were used without hilt because it was thought that it was best to learn fencing that way. Also, that made them cheaper :D.

No, Herr Meyer didn't actually pay me to say this.

Me and some of my friends in the MFFG, Oliver Dupuis together with Roberto Gotti (Guardia di Croce) are studying this sword and the symbols on it because we have some evidence that this sword is strongly associated with the Maestro Meyer school and in the next months will be published the result of our work together with a reprinting of all the engravings of master Meyer book

This photo was taken from a book
"Armi antiche a Gardone" published in 2007
This is a public forum so let me remind you guys we must be sure that we have the right to publish this photo if its used anywhere but here (out of respect for the holders of the rights).

There will be a announcement by Roberto Gotti in the coming months when he organizes the whole affair. Mr Gotti discovered this sword and has done some fantastic work on verifying what it is, his keen eye caught some evidence on it that we are following up on but all will be made clear by Mr Gotti soon. Roberto By the way, runs a Fencing school in northern Italy and is a big Meyer fan and was gracious enough to include us in his find, he is also a really cool guy :D

Although this is not a Federschwert , it is example of a weapon that Meyer covers. Interestingly, this dussack is metal and can be seen at the Reichstadt Museum in Germany. Since there are only a few examples of metal dussacks in existance you just have to wonder whether of or not this was created because some guy was so good with the dussack, he thought it would be a great weapon for combat too. Note the Meyer plate in the background Image

Here are some more photos from the museum. http://picasaweb.google.com/106965559957094632841/RothenburgChristmasMarketRowenCam?authkey=Gv1sRgCLCp_9D71_vaQw#
