Impulse buy!

2 Alchem swords that will look the part. I'll give a review of them at a later date as we explore Meyer (and his ilk).

I have some Marazzo stuff, and will use it to fill in gaps where needed.

Does anyone spar using Meyer-esque rapier?

which ones did ya order?

I'm also interested to see how their service is. I'm sure you can guess why it's a concern for me

The Aguirre or whatever 'Wrath of God' sword with the broadsword blade, 35'', rings with plates, knucklebow.

I didn't see a way to add the costs for my extras so asked them to bill me in the paypal transaction, and emailed them to let them know what extra goodies I want added. For two swords the cost should float around the 350-400 range once shipping and handling and all that is worked out.

Should look something like this

cool stuff. I'll be interested to see how the broadsword blade is. It's cheaper than the flat tang blade, so if it's good, it'll be good to know. As far as I can tell, the only difference between the broadsword and flat tang blade is that the broadsword has a rod tang.

Also keep in mind that the hilts can be taken apart, so once you already have some blades, you can just buy extra hilts and swap them out.

I've heard a lot of bad things about their quality and their service lately, so good luck.

I have no first-hand knowledge, so to avoid hearsay I direct you to the source: http://www.fioredeiliberi.org/phpBB3/vi ... =8&t=17505

I used paypal and can launch a dispute within 45 days if they fail to deliver or show me the love that my money deserves. Thanks!

Edit = It looks like if I don't get what I want in about 30 or so days, or at least an email, I'll lodge a paypal dispute which will get their attention. As for quality, looks like they'll be good for what I want. Rugged, soviet-esque durable and none-too pretty workmanship. URRAH!

I'll keep you posted how my venture goes. Thanks for the warning.

Edit = I've had serious issues with companies lately, so I'll keep my eyeball on Alcem. Cyberpower has sold me a lemon of a computer, a game-designer for my book has flaked out on me, and that email about me winning the Ugandan lottery was a lie!

so did you actually get a response to your email what extra bits you wanted and how to charge them?

Not yet!

I'll give them a few days, do another email, then a few more days, then at 30 days if there is silence, I'll use the paypal dispute and go from there. I've not seen people being 'robbed' yet, (item paid for but never received) just given the slow treatment. I'll let you all know how the process goes. Early yet! Though Kult of Athena, whom I've always had great, fast, service has spoiled me!
