New Federschwert Swords by Pavel Moc

Hey all,

I was going over sword options via email with one of my new students today and stumbled on these (its been a while since I had been to this site so I was surprised)
since there is always big discussion about this, here is something I am excited that is coming on the market



from this Czech sword maker.

Looks like they will be over 50 inches (and probably closer to 53/54) and weigh in at 3 or so lbs. also they have an interesting tip design.

the best thing about this is I have heard around the web that Pavel Moc is pretty cool about hilting and pommel options so you could probably get what ever hilt you wanted (unlike some high end american companies)

The end reminds me of the Italian federschwert seen on Hroarr.com

only a guess on price but since his other longsword stuff runs anywhere from $350-$650. I am guessing these will be in the $300-$400 range.

or maybe Martin Fabians group. If Anton Kohutovic is lurking around here maybe he can chime in on if they have some or not and give some initial thoughts

*Edit* I should note that I think that the $300 range is what I consider exactly right for a "semi-pro" piece of equipment, especially if they come with custom options for grip, cross and pommel.

Just judging by the past work he has done with really long swords I bet some of them will be in the 55" range and you could use them for Montonte training

I've been waiting to see what the asking price for these will be! I haven't heard back from Ensifer or Fabri-armorum despite a few emails saying I'd like to buy a pair (though that number is going up now) and these look fantastic as well. If they make it State-side under the cost of an A&A they'll likely get my order!

They have the right appearance and configuration, one of the pics even seems to suggest they have good flex. I'm looking forward to seeing the finalized specs, these could be a good option.
